Implement radio frequency identification (RFID) tag reader into a web based application for Pressure Safety Valve Maintenance (Oil & Gas industry), simplify wireless reader connection and create a simple user interface.

Business Situation

Employees used a paper-based process to access and record information about valve inspections. Along with slowing inspection times, the process required manual data entry and impeded data sharing.

Solution

MediaDotCom developed and implemented a radio frequency identification (RFID) solution with RFID Mobile IDBlue HF Bluetooth Reader that automates the process used to record inspection data.

Custom reporting module was designed by MediaDotCom in order to minimize the bandwidth requirement for viewing of reports and to control security (view, print and export). Additional security information is embedded in report data to allow control of groups or roles that can access and view its data. Generated report can be viewed in MediaDotCom Report Viewer or they can be downloaded as PDF, XLS etc. depending on defined security privileges. Print privilege can be also used to distribute view only copies of reports (disable printing). Paper copy is identified by embedding user info, generation date and print date to the right top corner of the report document.

MediaDotCom RMS (Resource Management System) is industry oriented ERP system with open infrastructure to allow easy integration in existing application systems and processes. RMS main concepts are:
